Imagine yourself going through the Holocaust; what would you have done? Would you still be alive? Elie Wiesel, author of the book Night, lived through the Holocaust as a teenage boy and till this very day, he’s still alive and he’s sharing his experience with us today. This man as a young boy went through so much; and even though he was going through a rough time, he managed to stay loyal to his father and religion, he was lucky in a couple of ways, and of course I have to say he was very brave.

         Elie Wiesel was loyal. He managed to stay with his father, until his father’s death, and he did. There was difficulties when his father’s life was ending because his fathers was becoming weaker; and when the officers would tell the prisoners to run, Elie’s father would stay behind and Elie wanted to stay close to his father as much as possible and Elie would get in trouble for staying behind. Also, Elie remained loyal to his religion. Even though his father told him not to fast, Elie still did it and didn’t care what anybody said. Being and living in these concentration camps was rough, and being able to still believe in God was not possible. Miracles weren’t happening and I too, like other people, would of stopped having faith.

         Elie was very lucky that a prisoner had told him and his father to lie about their age, and that luck lasted until his final days at the camps. At this time Elie was fourteen and his father was fifty. The prisoner told Elie to tell the SS officers that he’s eighteen and his father fourty. That was so they wouldn’t get sent to the crematory. Elie was very lucky that the SS officers believed him. If not, Elie wouldn’t be living and we wouldn’t know all this information.

          One of the people that is very brave and that I know of is Elie Wiesel. This man went through so much as a teenager. "Never shall I forget that night, the first night in the camp, wich has turned my life into one long night…" is what turned Elie’s life around. Living through the Holocaust must have been really painful and knowing myself, I would of preffered to die. He’s brave enough to still talk about the horrible stuff and to teach is about it.

            Remaining loyal, being lucky, and being brave during the Holocaust must have been a gift from God. Many people didn’t even live through the Holocaust and Elie did and is still alive. It took a lot of strength to stay loyal to his religion and father. He was lucky enough for the officers to believe him thst he was eighteen; but he’s even more lucky to be alive today. This man must of been the bravest kid during the Holocaust. One sad thing is that Elie believes he’s dead mentally but not scientifically. I strongly believe that Elie Weisel was blessed.
